A half day course
This half day course on Safeguarding and Children’s Rights is aimed at deaf and hard of hearing learners who need the support of BSL interpreters. It has been funded by the Welsh Government.
This course is aimed at anyone working directly or indirectly with children and young people in a wide range of workplace and community settings. The purpose of the training is to give participants confidence and essential knowledge on how to safeguard the children and young people in their environment.
As a result, of the training participants will:
- Learn about the key legislation, guidance, policies and procedures for safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, including E-safety.
- Understand the roles of different agencies involved in safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
- Understand safe working practices essential to keeping children, young people and practitioners safe in work.
- Consider the potential indicators of different types of child abuse and how to identify these in practice.
- Know how to respond effectively to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused, or neglected.
- Be able to describe the principles and boundaries of confidentiality and when to share information.
We would like the places to be filled by people who need the use of BSL interpreters.

Cwrs hanner ddydd
Mae’r cwrs hanner diwrnod hwn ar Ddiogelu a Hawliau Plant wedi’i anelu at ddysgwyr byddar a thrwm eu clyw sydd angen cymorth dehonglwyr BSL. Mae wedi cael ei ariannu gan Lywodraeth Cymru.
Mae'r cwrs hwn wedi'i anelu at unrhyw un sy'n gweithio'n uniongyrchol neu'n anuniongyrchol gyda phlant a phobl ifanc mewn ystod eang o leoliadau gweithle a chymunedol. Pwrpas yr hyfforddiant yw rhoi hyder a gwybodaeth hanfodol i gyfranogwyr ar sut i ddiogelu plant a phobl ifanc yn eu hamgylchedd.
O ganlyniad, bydd cyfranogwyr yr hyfforddiant yn:
- Dysgu am y ddeddfwriaeth, canllawiau, polisïau a gweithdrefnau allweddol ar gyfer diogelu lles plant a phobl ifanc, gan gynnwys e-ddiogelwch
- Deall rolau gwahanol asiantaethau sy'n ymwneud â diogelu lles plant a phobl ifanc
Deall arferion gweithio diogel sy'n hanfodol i gadw plant, pobl ifanc ac ymarferwyr yn ddiogel mewn lleoliad gwaith - Ystyried dangosyddion posibl gwahanol fathau o gam-drin plant a sut i nodi’r rhain yn ymarferol
- Gwybod sut i ymateb yn effeithiol i dystiolaeth neu bryderon bod plentyn neu berson ifanc wedi cael ei gam-drin, neu ei esgeuluso
- Gallu disgrifio egwyddorion a ffiniau cyfrinachedd a phryd i rannu gwybodaeth
