One-day Course
Under the Social Services and Well-being Act 2014, children who are eligible for Care and Support Services will need to be involved in What Matters Conversations and the Co-production of their Well-being Goals. This course will use a child rights based approach to engaging care experienced children and young people.
Everyone is expected to place a greater emphasis on finding out what is important to people of all ages in Wales, a move from’ doing to’, to ‘doing with’ children & young people. The training will give participants ideas of practical activities using person centred and trauma informed approaches to support children and young people to speak about their experiences and become involved in their support plans.
Course aims:
- Skills and Resources needed to engage with Children & Young People
- The Social Services and Well-being Act 2014 in relation to working Care Experienced Children and Young People
- The framework of Children’s Rights within the Act
- The context of What Matters Conversations
- Barriers to engagement
- Trauma informed approaches to direct work
This course is aimed at managers and practitioners working with children in social care, health and education, other statutory agencies, voluntary and third sector organisations who want to improve their engagement skills through increased use of direct work with children.

O dan Ddeddf Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol a Llesiant 2014, bydd angen i blant sy’n gymwys ar gyfer Gwasanaethau Gofal a Chymorth fod yn rhan o Sgyrsiau Beth sy’n Bwysig a Chydgynhyrchu eu Nodau Llesiant. Bydd y cwrs hwn yn defnyddio dull seiliedig ar hawliau plant i ymgysylltu â phlant a phobl ifanc sydd â phrofiad o ofal.
Disgwylir i bawb roi mwy o bwyslais ar ddarganfod beth sy’n bwysig i bobl o bob oed yng Nghymru, symud o ‘wneud i’, i ‘wneud’ gyda phlant a phobl ifanc. Bydd yr hyfforddiant yn rhoi syniadau i gyfranogwyr am weithgareddau ymarferol gan ddefnyddio dulliau sy'n canolbwyntio ar yr unigolyn ac wedi'u llywio gan drawma i gefnogi plant a phobl ifanc i siarad am eu profiadau a chymryd rhan yn eu cynlluniau cymorth.
